How the e-Shop works:

All items are handmade by Forge makers.  Participating makers have chosen to donate 5% of their sale back to the Forge -- the rest is up to them!  Donate to a Forge shop, split it up, or keep it to support their making habit.  Details are in the item description.

Most of these items are one of a kind!  If there are multiples of an item, small changes might vary from the photo (like wood grain).

If you select local pick-up, you'll receive an email to schedule your pickup.  Shipping is US only.  Please allow 2 weeks or more for shipping due to the global pandemic.  Not all items are available for shipping.

Alle Lacoste is a Ceramics Mentor & instructor here at the Forge and the hands behind Oddpodge Shop!  She creates unique ceramics and textiles pieces full of whimsy and beautiful natural elements.

MAKER TAKEOUT

Maker Takeout is a new offering from the Forge where our staff makes something cool and you have 2 options to enjoy it: purchase it pre-made by us, or get a kit and make it yourself!

This is the first roll-out for Maker Takeout and we will be adding new things all the time!  Next year we will be pairing these projects with online classes coupled with our CNC equipment!  Stay tuned for fun new things from your friends at the Forge!

Erin started her membership here at the Forge in 2020 as a way to expand her maker business, Its Personal by 3E.

Samuel joined the Forge to try out ceramics for the first time.  He found his niche and a great community and next came his business, MudFish Ceramics!

Ann Tilley

Ann Tilley is a textiles artist and clothing designer based in Julian, NC, and the Forge's Textiles Mentor!

"I use knitting and other fiber crafts to make "paintings", where my love of color-work and math blend perfectly! I'm inspired by video games, The Simpsons color palette, as well as traditional, domestic fiber crafts."

The proceeds of Ann's framed knittings are split 50-50 with the Forge's Textiles Studio.  Thank you, Ann!

Steve Treson

Steve is a lifelong maker, retired welder, and all-around very helpful guy! You can see some of his handiwork in the signs hanging on Lewis & Elm Wine Bar and Little Brother Brewing as well as the bars out front of Southend Brewing! Additionally, Steve helps the Forge by leading welding focused Skills building programs such as our Pre-Apprenticeship program and Skills Bootcamp.

Michelle Folkman

Michelle is a maker, entrepreneur and all around creative.  Her maker practice focuses on kinetic sculpture made from recycle materials.

"My wind spinners (whirlibirds, pigglygigs) are handcrafted from upcycled aluminum cans. I make them to amuse children and lighten the hearts of adults, providing a break from a complicated world."

Mark Schicker

Mark Schicker is a long-time Wood Shop Mentor at the Forge and has taught countless classes in woodworking for us creating beautiful wooden items and passing his knowledge to folks of all ages.  Mark has recently turned his attention to growing his shop, The Schicker Shop.


"I have been wood working for 30 years. Sometimes I get an ideas and go with it. Sometimes it is the wood that drives the project."

Triad Youth Makers was founded in 2020 by Mike Renne. Mike is currently a Technology Trainer at NC A&T State University. He is passionate about creating non-traditional, play-based learning experiences.
