The Forge is Hiring: Facilities and Operations Coordinator

The Facilities and Operations Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and their primary responsibility is to direct and coordinate all activities of Forge Greensboro’s shops and facilities. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of Forge shops, serving as project manager and/or lead technician.  
  • Maintain consistent communication with Shop Leads and Mentors regarding maintenance tasks and repairs. 
  • Monitor safety procedures and performance of members, volunteers, and staff. 
  • Provide basic information to guests, visitors, or clients and conduct tours of the facility. 
  • Conduct training programs included onboarding for new members. 
  • Manage member storage and private maker studio spaces. 
  • Maintain facility plans and facilitate layout changes as needed. 
  • Setting up and breaking down supplies, materials, and equipment for adult education classes. 

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Strong commitment to the Forge’s mission and values of accessibility, diversity, and collaboration.
  • Flexible and adaptive work style with the ability to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial, mission-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiently operate a computer and related software.
  • Knowledge of building safety regulations and security protocols. 
  • Experience in building and equipment maintenance. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must submit to a background check. 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, or crawl to maintain equipment and facility. 
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility. 

Job Classification: Part-time (20 hours per week) 

 

Pay: $15-$20 per hour; commensurate with experience
