The Forge is Hiring: Education Coordinator

The Education Coordinator reports to the Director of Education and Member Engagement and their primary responsibility is co-facilitating making activities and STEM education sessions. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Co-facilitating all youth education pursuits current and future, including working with skilled maker mentors to assemble education teams.
  • Co-facilitating adult experiences as needed. 
  • Co-facilitating upcoming Mobile Innovation Lab projects including: 
  • Setting up the Mobile Innovation Lab at each site.
  • Safely and responsibly driving the Mobile Innovation Lab to and from partner schools across Guilford County.  
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies needed for educational programming. 
  • Maintain education related social media marketing, including email newsletters. 
  • Facilitate information/orientation sessions and facility tours.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Strong commitment to the Forge’s mission and values of accessibility, diversity, and collaboration.
  • Highly effective and collaborative individual; personal characteristics include: integrity, optimism, and high energy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and a keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptive work style with the ability to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial, mission-driven environment.
  • Maker experience in product design, woodworking, CNC, etc. is preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle; willingness to travel regionally and drive a non-CDL shortened school bus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must submit to a background check. 

 

Job Classification: Part-time (20 hours per week) 

 

Pay: $15-$20 per hour; commensurate with experience
